Hi everyone.
I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year and summer holiday if you are in the Southern Hemisphere.
We have been away for two weeks in the caravan over Christmas and New Year, great weather and as usual, great places to visit in this wonderful country of ours.
November wasn’t a good month for us, our black Labrador Sam got sick and we had to have her put to sleep, although it was the right thing to do for her it’s a difficult decision. She was 13 and is sadly missed. For Max, the Monday after she died was the first time in his 17 months of life he had been by himself all day while were at work. He was quite lost without her.
Max and Sam when Max was a puppy.
We had decided we would get another dog to keep Max company, in a few months time, in the new year. However this happened a bit sooner than we thought when Graham saw an 8 month old black lab puppy advertised for adoption and you guessed it, the week before Christmas Billy joined our family.
Billy didn’t take long to adjust to a new canine friend, two new humans, a new house and new name, he’s done well!! In the background is the 20lt water container that we tie the dogs to when we are camping, they can drag these around so they have to be pegged down!!
We are members of the Motor Caravan Association, they own quite a lot of camps around the country for members to use. The Tekapo camp is new and a great spot right next to the lake. The dogs went swimming two or three times a day. There are lots of tracks for walking and mountain biking. We stayed a few days at Tekapo and explored the areas that we hadn’t been to in this region- see posts coming soon.
We had a great holiday staying a few days in Tekapo, Blenheim, Motueka, Hokitika etc (see posts coming soon).

A cheeky Kea, sitting on top of our caravan, I think it’s a stone in it’s mouth and hopefully not silicone off our caravan!
And just another couple of dog photos for all you dog lovers 🙂
Getting back into work and routine now, which is always hard after a nice holiday but I will try and make some time over the weekend to finish off some new posts.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, safe and happy travels and adventures!!
